If you’re like most dental professionals, you started sending patient insurance claims electronically years ago as one of your first steps toward going paperless. Since that time, you may have purchased intraoral cameras and digital X-ray equipment, which would have allowed you to add digital attachments to your claims. Aside from that investment and a few regulatory changes (e.g., 4010, 5010), not much has changed in electronic claim submissions—until G5, that is.
The Electronic Explanation of Benefit (eEOB) feature in Dentrix G5 further reduces your dependency on paper by completing an electronic claim round trip. Instead of receiving a paper EOB, the insurance payment information is delivered electronically into Dentrix, where you can post it without manual data entry. This is an enormous time saver and a great way to eliminate the possibility of key-punch errors.
A popup message alerts you when you have received an eEOB. You can then select an eEOB from a specific carrier from a list of all your received eEOBs and manage the payment for each specific patient within the eEOB. Any edits or adjustments can be made quickly and easily prior to posting.
As an added benefit, Dentrix G5 streamlines the workflow that would normally follow the EOB posting. Secondary claims can be submitted automatically to eliminate extra manual steps. You can also send patient billing statements for remaining balances from the eEOB payment window with a simple click of a button. The patient billing statements are printed and mailed for you using QuickBill.
eEOBs are included with Dentrix eClaims, so there is no additional cost. There is, however, a separate enrollment process.
Take another step toward paperless by enrolling in eEOB today. Visit www.dentrix.com/eeob for more information or to get started.
Note: Secondary claims are billed at your regular eClaims rate. QuickBill is an additional service that prints and mails your patient billing statements, usually for less than the price of mailing statements manually. A separate enrollment is required for QuickBill. More information is available at www.dentrix.com/quickbill.
